Mr. & Mrs. M. – Boston

The Drain Doctor Peterborough office recently made an appointment to unblock a drain at a property in Boston. The owners had noticed that water was slow to empty from their kitchen sink.

In addition, when water emptied from their washing machine it overflowed from the drain onto their patio area.

High-pressure water jets were used to try to break down the blockage from an external manhole cover.

Debris washing away from the blockage indicated that roots had grown into the drain and were working like a net, catching deposits of soap scum and small food waste that had entered the drains.

Following the jet clean, CCTV cameras were inserted in to check the condition of the drain and to allow the Drain Doctor Peterborough technician to determine what method of drain repair should be used.

The blockage had been cleared but images showed a few small cracks within the pipe that had developed due to pressure from the ingrowing plant roots. The decision was made to repair the drain using a cured-in-place drain liner.

Before proceeding with the repair the Drain Doctor Peterborough office provided Mr. & Mrs. M. with a quote to repair their drain. Happy with the price, the customer instructed us to begin the work.

A chemically-soaked liner was pulled into place in the pipe and cured immediately to create a watertight point-repair to the pipe without the need for excavation.

During the drain repair process, the Drain Doctor Peterborough technician was happy to answer questions about the drain repair technique to the property owners.

At Drain Doctor Peterborough we are proud to have an excellent reputation for customer service.
